Implicit bias refers a specific type of prejudice that is unconscious. Even though we are wholly unaware of these subconscious preferences for certain persons, places, things or activities, these biases still affect the way we view and interact with those around us. By examining these unconscious assumptions, we are better able to identify them and make improvements.
