Scholarly Journals vs. Popular Journals

Scholarly journals contain articles that have been written by experts in a field. These journals can also be classified as "peer-reviewed", "refereed", or "academic" journals.These journals are written for experts or scholars in the field.  Nature is an example of a scholarly journal. Popular magazines contain articles written by a journalist or writer. They are written for general audiences. Time and Vogue are examples of popular journals.

How to Find Journals

You can find a specific journal through our catalog or through GALILEO.

How to Find Articles

You can find articles through our catalog or through GALILEO.

  • LUCY
    • Keyword Search: Use Boolean operators "AND", "OR", and "Not"
    • Limit to Held by Willet Library
    • If it is available online, click View Full Text
  • Databases
    • Keyword Search: Use Boolean operators "AND", "OR", and "Not"
    • Remember to use the limiters on the side to find full text and scholarly articles
