Copyright

Copyright is a subset of intellectual property law granting legal protection for authors and creators. Copyright protects original works, including literary works, dramatic works, artwork, and technical works. Copyright law includes music, movies, and most written works. Everything from poetry to works of art are protected.

The use of a copyrighted work without permission is copyright infringement. The consequences for copyright infringement includes, a warning, a fine, and even prosecution.
